🇰🇵 🇺🇸 ☢️ 🇰🇷 #NorthKorea has issued a stark warning to #SouthKorea and the #UnitedStates, condemning the newly signed joint #nuclear deterrence guidelines as a “reckless provocative act.” The official Korean Central News Agency published a statement from a defense ministry spokesperson, warning that the allies will face “an unimaginably harsh price” if they commit further provocations. @AtlasNewsTelegram
The condemnation follows the adoption of the “Guidelines for Nuclear Deterrence and Nuclear Operations on the Korean Peninsula” by South Korea and the United States in Washington, D.C., on Thursday. This document aims to significantly expand the deployment of U.S. strategic assets on the Korean Peninsula during both wartime and peacetime.
“The DPRK Ministry of National Defence strongly denounces and rejects the reckless provocative act of the U.S. and the ROK (Republic of Korea) that pushes the regional military tensions to extremes through extremely incendiary and malicious rhetoric and provocative action,” the spokesperson declared.
The North Korean official further stated that the allies’ “provocative behavior” is the “root cause of endangering regional security” and necessitates North Korea to “further improve its nuclear deterrent readiness and add important elements to the composition of the deterrent.” The spokesperson warned against committing further acts of provocation, cautioning that ignoring this warning would result in “an unimaginably harsh price.”
In contrast, South Korea’s ruling People Power Party (PPP) praised the joint nuclear deterrence guidelines, describing them as a strong deterrent against North Korea’s provocations. PPP spokesperson Ho Jun-seok highlighted the restored mutual trust between South Korea and the United States under the Yoon Suk Yeol administration, which he claimed has become a potent deterrent against North Korea’s reckless actions.

🇺🇸 Full Geolocation Analysis of #Trump Assassination Attempt: https://theatlasnews.co/analysis/2024/07/14/full-geolocation-analysis-of-trump-assassination-attempt/
On July 13, gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks opened fire on a Trump rally in Butler, PA, from an elevated vantage point in an attempted assassination of the former #UnitedStates president. @AtlasNewsTelegram
The shooting killed a rally attendee, identified as retired fire chief Corey Comperatore, and critically wounded two more. Trump was grazed by a bullet on his right ear and evacuated from the area.
Crooks was killed by counter-snipers approximately 10 seconds after first opening fire.
The venue of the rally was located at the Butler Farm Show grounds in Butler, #Pennsylvania (Geo: 40.856, -79.9708).
Crooks positioned himself on the southern most building of AGR International Inc., which is located some 150 yards directly north of the rally venue (Geo: 40.8582743, -79.9708108).
Witnesses told BBC and NBC that they witnessed Crooks climb onto the roof and attempted to alert nearby authorities several minutes before the shooting took place.
Law enforcement officials have told AP that a local police officer attempted to confront Crooks, reporting that “One local police officer climbed to the roof and encountered Crooks, who pointed his rifle at the officer. The officer retreated down the ladder, and Crooks quickly took a shot toward Trump.”
Crooks fired a total of eight shots, which grazed Trump, who was speaking at the center podium, critically wounded two attendees, and killed Comperatore, who has been hailed as a hero for shielding his family from the gunfire.
Gunfire also struck a tractor/crane that was located next to the furthest grandstand. The bullet impact severed a hydraulic line, causing hydraulic fluid to spray out onto other rallygoers (Geo: 40.8567427, -79.9709174)
At least three counter-sniper teams (CST) were present at the fairgrounds at the time of the shooting. Crooks was killed by a single bullet to the head approximately 10 seconds after first opening fire.

#UnitedStates law enforcement sources familiar with the incident, speaking on condition of anonymity, have told Atlas News that local police snipers were responsible for covering the roof of AGR International, which is where gunman Thomas Crooks was positioned when he opened fire on the Trump rally, but was inside the building when the shooting began. @AtlasNewsTelegram
Channel 11, citing multiple LEO sources, reported that a Beaver County ESU team “noticed a suspicious man [crooks] on a roof near the rally at 5:45p.m., called it in, and took a picture of the person,” which was nearly 30 minutes before shots were first fired. A separate law enforcement officer also reportedly took a picture and called in a report on the gunman before 5:45p.m.

🇲🇱 🇷🇺 #Wagner Enters the #Tuareg’s Existential War in #Mali: https://theatlasnews.co/latest/2024/07/14/wagner-enters-the-tuaregs-existential-war-in-mali/
At least 23 Tuareg civilians have been killed by elements of the Malian army (FAMA) and Wagner forces in Mali’s Kidal region in four days, between July 9th and 12th. According to a statement from the Permanent Strategic Framework for the Defense of the People of Azawad (CSP-DPA), seven civilians and one member of the Malian armed forces who was on leave were killed in the village of Takalote, while another five men were killed in the northeastern commune of Tin-Essako and buried in a mass grave. “Following this horrible mission, more than 10 unarmed civilians were executed,” the statement said. @AtlasNewsTelegram
After the attack on Takalote across July 9-12th, Wagner forces moved into Tin-Essako, where the bodies of five civilians, Ebagraz Ag Mahamad (69 years), Mohamed Ag Attiyoub (23 years), Mossa Ag Attiyoub (12 years), Mossa Ag Bakila (40 years), and Mahmoud Ag Zaydoune (35 years), were found in a mass grave.
In the aftermath of the attack and according to local reports, a well in Innoufassan, which is believed to be near Tin-Essako, was poisoned as the villagers fled.
“Cows were slaughtered and their carcasses trapped,” said the CSP-DPA, with the head of a slaughtered cow found buried and rigged with explosives.
It is alleged that at least 10 unarmed civilians were killed as FAMA and Wagner forces departed Tin-Essako.
Attacks against Tuaregs have increased in the country in recent weeks, with a series of drone strikes conducted on Tin-Essako on June 19th. The increased attacks signal the beginning of a counter-offensive against the Tuareg rebels, with which the Malian government under Assimi Goita terminated a 2015 peace agreement in late January.
In response, Inkinane Ag Attaher, Commander of the National Movement for the Liberation of Azawad (MNLA)—who made serious gains against the Malian army in 2012—posted images of multiple improvised explosive devices (IEDs), stating, “Wagner traps in Azawad.”
Azawad, roughly translating to ‘the land of transhumance,’ in reference to the nomadic lifestyles of the Tuareg people, is an imagined state found in northern Mali, where the country’s Tuaregs reside.

Several top Democrats have privately told Axios that #UnitedStates President Joe Biden may drop out of the 2024 Presidential Election as soon as this weekend amid increasing pressure from party members. @AtlasNewsTelegram
This comes as Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (NY) “forcefully made the case that it would be best if Biden bowed out of the race” during a “blunt one-on-one conversation” with the President on Saturday, according to ABC chief Washington correspondent Jonathan Karl.
Yesterday, Representative Adam Schiff (CA) called on Biden to “pass the torch” because he has “serious concerns about whether the President can defeat Donald Trump in November.”
