Netanyahu has left the UN General Assembly in NYC several days early following the strike. Retaliation by Hezbollah is almost certain, however, I wonder if Iran will get involved after nearly two months of saber rattling.

IDF says it’s still assessing the results of the strike, no confirmation that Nasrallah was killed.
Hezbollah remains silent on the matter.

Been talking to a source at the scene of where Israeli strikes targeted Hezbollah’s central command, which killed Hassan Nasrallah. According to him, the crater I posted about on IG was solely caused by excavation operations for body recovery.
However, additional photos and videos from the scene places the crater directly over a suspected JDAM entry point.
With that, and as I said in the comments, it’s likely a mixture of both impact crater and excavation. The munitions used were bunker busters, so they detonate several meters underground following impact at the surface. The pavement likely held up parts of the debris, while the detonation left a subterranean pocket from underground structure collapse.

Sorry, the map is showing air raid alerts across Israel as Iran began its missile attack

Iran is expected to carry out several waves of launches over the next several hours

Yeah this looks significantly larger than what we saw in April

Me thinks Israel’s first targets in their response will be Iranian nuclear program infrastructure

All the footage you are seeing is from the first wave, which appears to have targeted Tel Aviv and military bases in the Negev.

Still waiting on confirmation as to what was actually hit, as well as the extent of damage

April was more so a show of force than a committed attack, similar to the attack against US forces in Iraq after Soleimani was killed. Iran has the capability to conduct precise strikes, meaning they can hit a base, but purposely not hit anything that would cause escalation. This could be same case, but we will have to wait and see.
The way I saw April was like this:
- Israel kills IRGC leadership
- Iran responds with missile
and drone attack that essentially had zero impact against Israeli operational capabilities. The attack was a grand show and could be presented as a successful retaliatory attack.
- Israel responds by striking ADA systems in Iran, which did not have any impact on Iran military capabilities. For Israel, this could be presented as a successful response to Iran’s attack. Iran swept it under the rug as if nothing happened, thus preventing near term escalation.
Could we see a repeat? Does nothing ever happen?
