Meanwhile in Cuba, large counter-protests in support of the government are underway. On Sunday, President Miguel Díaz-Canel appeared on national television urging government supporters to take to the streets to counter the ongoing protests, stating “the order to fight is given” and “all the revolutionaries in the country, all the communists, to take to the streets and go to the places where these provocations are going to take place.” Many pro-government counter-protestors clashed with opposition demonstrators alongside Cuban police forces.
