While speaking to the House Committee on Homeland Security, the assistant director for the FBI’s Counterterrorism Division, Robert Wells, warned that “#Iran continues to plot attacks against former government officials in retaliation for the death of IRGC-QF Commander Qassem Soleimani,” adding that Iran has the capability to conduct cyber attacks and targeted assassinations inside the #UnitedStates.
Back in January 2022, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi vowed “revenge” if former President Donald Trump was not criminally tried in court over the assassination of Soleimani.
While speaking during during commemorations on the two year anniversary of Soelimani’s death, Raisi stated “If Trump and [former Secretary of State Mike] Pompeo are not tried in a fair court for the criminal act of assassinating General Soleimani, Muslims will take our martyr’s revenge,” adding “The aggressor, murderer and main culprit – the then president of the United States – must be tried and judged under the law of retribution, and God’s ruling must be carried out against him.”
This was followed by the release of an animated video threatening to drone strike Trump at Mar-A-Lago, stating “revenge is definite.”
The National Counterterrorism Center reported at the time that “Since January 2021, Tehran has publicly expressed a willingness to conduct lethal operations inside the United States and has consistently identified former President Donald Trump, former Secretary of State Michael Pompeo, and former CENTCOM Commander General Kenneth McKenzie as among its priority targets for retribution.”
“Iran would probably view the killing or prosecution of a US official it considers equivalent in rank and stature to Soleimani or responsible for his death as successful retaliatory actions,” the report added. – Atlas News

The President of #Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, has claimed that peace with Armenia is closer “than ever before.” He made the claim in a joint press conference with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, who was in Azerbaijan in order to hold a series of meetings with Aliyev. Secretary Stoltenberg travelled to Armenia on Tuesday in order to hold talks with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol #Pashinyan. Both meetings will be gone over in detail.
Notably, following Aliyev’s claims, PM Pashinyan signalled his willingness to hand over four disputed border villages to Azerbaijan, claiming that Azerbaijan could attack Armenia “by the end of the week” if Armenia did not hand over the four villages. This claim was given amidst discussions with Armenian locals who live in close proximity to the villages.
The villages, Baganis Ayrim, Asagi Askipara, Xeyrimli, and Gezilxajili, are located in Azeri recognized territory, however have been uninhabited since they were occupied by Armenia in the early 1990’s during the first Karabakh/Artsakh war.
Armenian civilians in villages located in close proximity to the occupied villages have expressed concerns about the potential return of the villages, with many fearing for their safety and also ability to access their land. Several border villages in Armenia have been partially or fully evacuated due to repeat problems with Azeri soldiers stationed on positions which were near the villages.

Dozens of casualties reported during an attack against the Crocus City Hall entertainment complex in Moscow. At least 3x gunmen armed with automatic rifles and 1x attacker carrying a bag.

Independent Russian media outlet Baza has reported that Russian authorities are currently searching for the gunmen responsible for the attack against the Crocus City Hall entertainment venue in Moscow, suggesting that they may have fled the scene.

Russian media have reported that all four suspects involved in the Crocus City Hall attack in #Moscow have been captured.
Analysis of the photo released by ISIS (through Amaq) of the attackers confirms that three of those involved in the attack have been captured through their clothes alone.
There also appears to have been an attempt to blur branding in the photo, however, traces can still be seen, making identification possible (pixel compression by might make this a bit hard to see).
The only suspect not immediately identifiable through clothing is the third one, however, he was reportedly captured alongside suspect 4 and has admitted guilt.
Two of the suspects have said they are Tajik.

They were behind the Kerman bombing in Iran earlier this year that resulted in hundreds of casualties.
Last week two suspected ISKP militants were arrested in Germany for planning an attack against Sweden.
Per US officials, Intel of an attack against Moscow was shared to Russian authorities in the past few weeks, leading to the March 7 terror alert made by the State Department, however, this was ultimately dismissed by Putin in statements three days ago where he called it “provocative statements” meant to “intimidate, destabilize” Russian society.
More attacks are to be expected, but hopefully not to the likes of what we saw in 2016-2017
