My newfound interpretation: Ego is not bad, it gives you some sense of conscious individuation. The ashes of defeat are wherever we are in full fear-based ego, viewing ourselves as separate in some capacity. We are resurrected— or reborn, really— when we die to the self (ego) and embody Jesus’s spirit, his desire for love, for truth, for unity, for each of us to find God within, and follow his way. That is where victory is found. He offered us the most pure, beautiful path for human existence, IMO.

I consciously ask God how I can best serve others each morning, and I am always finding myself turning back to Jesus’s example.

Hi friends! Thought I’d reintroduce myself. It’s been a while!

I’m a psychotherapist/coach and a functional nutritional therapist. I help people claim their unique leadership and live their most vibrant and fully expressed lives through embodiment, resourcing, values and relational work.

I’m a poet and a seeker. I have autoimmune (type 1) diabetes.

My near-death diagnosis at 27 set me on a path. Onset followed a steroid injection + a course of antibiotics. When I presented w/ symptoms of dizziness, fatigue, blurred vision, excessive thirst, excessive urination, nausea, and weight loss (20 lbs in 3 weeks), the doctor suggested I might be anorexic. I didn’t know anything about diabetes or autoimmunity, but I knew my doctor was wrong. Next morning my friend rushed me to the ER after finding me barely conscious. My blood sugar was 1600… And I lived. In part, I believe, to participate in this global awakening. My whole life has prepared me for this moment. And so has yours. We need you.
