I was pondering Nov. 5th - our voting day, and Guy Fawkes Day (the Gunpowder Treason and Plot, a failed assassination attempt on King James I in 1605).

Most of us are familiar with the "Anonymous" mask in the movie V for Vendetta—even if you haven't seen the movie, you've seen the mask! It's interesting that the plot succeeds in the film, and the rebels are able to overthrow the fascist government.
Someone remarked that Guy Fawkes wanted a Catholic king and wanted the persecution of Catholics to end. He didn't lead the rebellion, and he wasn't the only one involved who was arrested and executed. Still, he was caught guarding a cache of explosives beneath the House of Lords and became the figurehead for the rebellion.
Afterward, a day of Thanksgiving was declared for November 5th, and it has been a circus ever since.

So why do I think of these two juxtaposed events? In fact, when I think of November 5th, I think of Voting, which automatically makes me think of Trump.
Maybe it is the Catholic Connection—Trump has mentioned several times in speeches that the Left is coming after Christians, and Catholics specifically.
It may be because it's not always clear who the enemy is. What would have happened if the Gunpowder plot had succeeded? We would certainly have a different world today, though I couldn't enumerate all the ways we would have seen this manifest. Who can say if it would have been better or worse?
One thing I know for sure is that we must remain in prayer over the coming events. Our country has been eaten from the inside, and the rot has manifested outwardly for the past several years. We must repent on behalf of our nation!! This is the only way we will make it through what is coming.
Isaiah 26:3-4 You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you. (4) Trust in the LORD forever, for the LORD, the LORD himself, is the Rock eternal.
