Every year, we conduct a straw poll of attendees at AmericaFest to check the pulse of the conservative grassroots. We just got the results of this year's straw poll, and here are the highlights:

-71% of respondents STRONGLY support primary challenges to Republican lawmakers who vote against ANY of President Trump's Cabinet choices. Only 14% oppose primary challenges.

-35% said that RFK Jr. was their favorite Cabinet pick by Trump, followed by 31% who named Kash Patel. When asked to rank all of Trump's high-profile picks, Patel rose to #1.

-A massive 63% majority said that Trump's #1 issue on day one should be securing the border and deporting illegal immigrants who are already here.

-The favorite candidate for 2028 by far is JD Vance, at 59%. Donald Trump Jr. came in second at 17%, then Undecided at 11%, and Ron DeSantis at 6%.

-The most expected Democratic nominee for 2028 is Gavin Newsom at 35%, followed by Kamala Harris at 17% and Josh Shapiro at 16%. AOC got 4%, and Pete Buttigieg just 1.6% — Too bad, Pete!

-About 22% approve of Mike Johnson's performance as Speaker of the House, while 62% disapprove. 59% want a new speaker.

-More than 90% of respondents support indicting Anthony Fauci for his role in illegally funding the creation of Covid-19 in a Chinese lab, including more than 82% who strongly support it.

-When we asked how people get their news, two-thirds named X, by far the most popular response.
