About 5 years ago, i belonged to a very large church w thousands of members across 3 campuses. That’s what they called them. It appealed to me b/c it was non-denominational & very friendly, great atmosphere. I had been a member of that Church for over 5 years. The last six months of that time really opened my eyes. The guy who founded the Church and made it what it was retired, & the Church chose a paster from PA who seemed like a good guy at first. Very warm, very gregarious & a great speaker. Very engaging.

Over time, it became clear his primary goals were: 1.) grow the wealth of the church above all else, & 2.) throw those resources into pursuing social justice. Anyone not on board with both wasnt really his kind of people.

The breaking point came listening to his wife ‘guest preach’ a ‘sermon’ about America’s inherent racism. A rich white Liberal woman of privilege preaching to a single white struggling American who has been the victim of ACTUAL discrimination in the congregation that he & most of the rest of us were racists.

I walked out mid sermon & never went back.

I found a small non-denomination Church that puts Jesus & helping PEOPLE first- a church that uses 1/4 of its land to plant a massive garden & donates all of the produce to the needy. A church thats members regularly help at soup kitchens & homeless shelters.

Some of our ‘Churches’ have become Godless political institutions.

Some of our Churches need to change their ways, & start serving Him.
