Comment: One of the first actions by President Trump when he returns to office should be the pardoning of all of those who were charged with minor crimes of trespassing on 6 January 2021.

Shortly thereafter, he should call for the prosecution of any Federal authorities who enticed or led people inside the Capitol, who misrepresented the proceedings there, who entrapped groups into planning activities that they would not have otherwise planned, and who did not act on information that would have prevented the Capitol from being entered on 6 January.

While they await prosecution, President Trump should ensure that their holding cells are at least as uncomfortable as the cells used to maltreat all those held without trial for their activities on that day.
