49-51, Senate GOP blocks Dem bill to overhaul voting and election laws. Schumer switched his vote for procedural reasons
Sinema remains opposed to tax increases on corporations and high earners, per sources. And Dems are still haggling over a number of issues: Climate change, Medicare expansion, revenue raisers, increasing the SALT deduction and paid family leave, sources said.
Instead of a simple “pay their fair share” message that raised taxes on businesses and the wealthy,
Senate Dems are now exploring a range of complicated ideas with convoluted terms like “mark to market” to get Sinema on board

Ariz. Senate addresses election investigation
The attorney general of Arizona opens a criminal investigation as he reviews results from the election audit. One America's Christina Bobb has more.
Among the options under discussion to satisfy Sinema include targeting hundreds of billionaires who don’t pay taxes on their unrealized gains, stock buybacks, installing a minimum corporate tax, focusing more on international corporate tax reform, IRS enforcement.
It could be a big climbdown from Democrats' campaigns on raising the corporate and income tax rates on high earners. Dems might be able to make up the revenue, but would be a tough political pill to swallow.

Big news here: Sinema not budging on raising taxes on the wealthy (!!!) something that almost every Dem is using to sell the bill . Lol
Senate Dems are searching for an elusive plan C on elections and ethics reform after facing yet another setback Wednesday. While Manchin spent weeks reaching out to Rs, all 50 voted Wednesday to block consideration of the bill. w/ @ZachMontellaro

The dems gonna go with plan C for more cheating. They want to make cheating law and in the open now

Senate Dems hunt for new elections reform strategy after failed vote
The Senate failed to move forward on Democrats' elections reform bill Wednesday, the latest in a series of setbacks for a major party priority.
Can't believe that the democrats didn't know this was coming.
