This is how rigorous Danchenko's investigating was. He asked the Clinton-linked operative (Charles Dolan) to give him "any thought, rumor, allegation" about Paul Manafort. Danchenko passed along what Dolan gave him to Steele, which ended up in the dossier.
Doland told the FBI he himself fabricated that he had a GOP source for information he gave Danchenko about Manafort. Instead, he got it from news reports.

Federal Judge Theresa Buchanan ordered Igor Danchenko released with NO electronic monitoring.
The government was not asking that Danchenko be detained but that he be subjected to electronic monitoring.
However government prosecutors said they understood that there was no monitoring equipment available for some 24 hours, and that they were okay with him being released on his own recognizance until the situation could be rectified.
