Federal Judge Theresa Buchanan ordered Igor Danchenko released with NO electronic monitoring.
The government was not asking that Danchenko be detained but that he be subjected to electronic monitoring.

However government prosecutors said they understood that there was no monitoring equipment available for some 24 hours, and that they were okay with him being released on his own recognizance until the situation could be rectified.

Danchenko claimed to have stayed at a Moscow hotel in June of 2016, where he interviewed hotel employees who supposedly told him about the salacious activities of President Trump who had also stayed there.
Danchenko's claims were reported in the Steele dossier.
In a subsequent interview, Danchenko admitted he had not stayed at the hotel until 3 month later than he had initially reported.
