15. The channel for the guide rod must be precisely milled out & widened- or even a properly assembled firearm will not function. The rails you see in this finished firearm require hand-fitment, & sanding/milling to spec & fit, and then the slide assembly needs to be fitted to the rails as well.

16. These frames require additional parts kits to fit out, containing a trigger, pins, & other associated parts sold separately from the Polymer80 jig & frame. To say nothing of the slide, barrel, sights & slide internal parts that also must be acquired, assembled, & then married to the completed frame.

17. While the jig helps you to drill and mill in the correct spots, it cannot do the machining & finish work & hand fitment & assembly for you. And the parts to finish the complete, working frame are sold separately.

18. By now, you’re starting to understand that ‘anyone can buy these kits without a background check & build a gun in 30 minutes!’ is completely & totally false. The average person, much less the average criminal, isnt going to be doing this in 1/2 an hour. It’s flat out bullshit. But let’s keep going. There’s more. Much, much more.

19. Most of us who have created our very own home-made firearm invested in quality tools. And have a fair bit of experience building things. Precision work requires skill, patience, & quality tools. Does that look like a pair of cheap drill bits & dewalt drill?

20. Now that you’ve made it to this point, & the frame is milled out, i want to congratulate you: you’re exactly 1/4th of the way to having yourself a working firearm.

21. Now you have to hand fit the front & rear rails, put all the little springs, buttons, linkages & the trigger that makes a gun go bang into this frame.
Insert ‘some assembly required’ joke here!
What they dont tell you is that often you have to machine these parts to make them fit correctly & work in harmony & that can be hours or days of work.
And then you must start assembling the top half: the slide. The frame is only HALF the firearm.

22. You have to build this, too, from a pile of parts. And make sure all the parts work in harmony. And then you must mate them together.
