The problem is, the word "Socialism" (in the way Elon wants us to see it ) has been redefined. Much as the word "liberal" now means something much different than the past. "Classic English Liberals" are considered to have viewpoints that today we would consider "libertarian" or "conservative". The problem with Utopian Socialism, as nice as it may sound in theory, is disasterous in practice; because it cannot be implemented without corruption, and it by definition requires "enslavement" of the individual in service of the "greater good". The only voluntary way to achieve "greater good" is through voluntary participation in an economic system. People like Stefan Molyneux used to talk about "anarchic capitalism" to try to explain the idea better, before he was banned from Twitter and Youtube.

"Socialism" may "feel good" and seem to "come from the heart" but anyone who is aware of history and thinks about it deeply realizes it cannot work in the real world.
