Five Eyes, One brain. Think deeply about that.

It can be understood like this: when someone buys a company (or house, or other asset), the "seller" or the "current occupant" cannot do (or more the point, be caught doing) things that diminish the value of the purchased asset after the transaction is signed.

In the case of Twitter, that would be limiting the influx of a large number of new or re-activated (revenue-generating) accounts or throttling their engagement.

All the smart people at Twitter (it remains to be seen what proportion of people working there fall into that category) know they are liable if they "damage the value of the asset" at this point. That includes making *any* changes to the "source code" that aren't transparently communicated to the purchaser.

I was around when the modern Internet came into existence (and no, Al Gore had nothing to do with it.)

In those days, it was largely free from political and government interference; those types were still using typewriters and faxes and had no idea what “email” was. USENET was a source of innovative discussion, news, ideas.

I long for a return to those days when the ‘Net belonged exclusively to We, the People—before even the corporate interests crowded in.

I am not expecting anything but bad outcomes from this sort of politically motivated meddling “planning”, and interference.

We need a decentralized, uncensorable, unstoppable Internet for the future of mankind to speak and engage freely, without interference, without monitoring, without PSYOP, propaganda and impersonation. This political meeting will NOT get us to that endpoint.
