The friends and family I know of, that chose not to vote did so because of the same general sentiment, our election system is severely flawed, rigged and corrupt—some even said it’s almost like “they” (the establishment) already know who they’re going to “appoint” but they make us go through this sort of ‘song and dance’ to make us feel like WE somehow did it.

In total, about half of those I know that voted in the general election did NOT return for the runoff. To put it simply, they felt both discouraged and disenfranchised because it feels like nothing is being done to correct the rigged election system or to at least address their grievances—almost like concerns and public outcry have fallen upon deaf ears.

I too was discouraged after the results and after praying on it for a while, I was led to read 1st Samuel Chapter 30. How King David and his men were greatly distressed because it seemed as though all hope was lost, they felt utterly defeated. And then I honed in on verse 6 and verse 8. I had to encourage myself in the Lord!! Verse 8 leapt out at me as if the Spirit of God was speaking directly to me—“Pursue [continue fighting this righteous cause]: for thou shalt surely overtake them [in victory], and without fail RECOVER all.” Which has been my message all morning to those feeling discouraged, frustrated and upset about it all—BE ENCOURAGED, don’t give up and don’t give in—there’s too much at stake for you to throw in the towel! The lives’ of our loved ones and the very soul of our nation hang in the balance still…keep praying, keep pushing, keep persevering and keep PURSUING!
