Request What are the odds of 7 items randomly coming up in order?
This weekend I was part of a team that moved (among many other things) 7 Dell servers from one building to another.
Ideally, someone would have labeled the servers before they were removed so they could be re-racked in the right order. Unfortunately a miscommunication happened.
The 7 servers were placed on carts, rolled out to the parking lot and randomly placed in one of 4 vehicles being used for the move. The 4 vehicles left and went to the new building by varying routes and speeds. Upon arrival the equipment was loaded onto new carts and moved inside and placed on the floor, again, randomly. The focus was on speed and efficiency, not the order.
Only then did someone mention that the order mattered. Without any kind of label we figured we’d just rack them all, turn them on, label them, then shut them down and move them. A pain, but whatever.
When we turned them on we were all amazed that they were in order.
In my mind this would be equivalent to having the Ace through 7 of clubs, shuffling them, then dealing them back out in that exact order.

Self Homeopathic dilutions are cosmically comical. And I have the math to show it!
I had a thought at work today, where someone mentioned homeopathy.
The US healthcare is a scam in how much it costs, but at least it works.
Whereas...
Homeopathic Dilutions are a scam in the fact of they arent even selling you medicine. They are literally selling you a solvent. EG, a bottle of fucking water or whatever the hell else they use as a solvent (which isnt really regulated btw)
To start this, homeopathic dilutions use TWO important symbols.
C and X (sometimes shown as D)
So you will have something like a 30C dilution, or a 30X dilution.
C means you have a 1:100 dilution. X means you have a 1:10 dilution.
Usually on the shelves, you typically see 30C dilutions being the most common.
Lets start with the SMALLER dilution. 30X. (30C is way higher in terms of dilution but we will get there just give me a sec)
Lets say that your local homeopathic pharmacy has a bottle of 30X "cell salts" which is something they sell and IDK what the fuck that means.
So... how much of the "cell salts" are we getting actually? A few MG? A few grams?
Well, 30X means.... That you have diluted it by 10.... 30 times.
At 12C or 24X, we are actually AT Avogadro's number.
6 × 10^23 molecules per mole.
Lets choose a random element, as Avogadro's number is a constant. For memes sake we will use something dangerous. Like uranium.
So Uranium-238 weighs.... 238 grams per mole. In that mole we have 6x10^23 atoms of uranium.
So at 30X dilution, we are looking at something we have diluted by 10 thirty times. Or.... Another way to put it...We have divided it by.... 10^30
6x10^23 has 7 less zeros than 10^30, so we actually get a ratio of less than one. Which means...
To properly dilute to 30X, we would hilariously have to split atoms into parts that would immediately cease to exist on their own! If you truly dilute that uranium to 30X, you actually dilute it and anything you split it into, into actual nonexistence.
To put this another way, this would be like dropping asprin in a sphere of water that encompasses a few planetary orbits!
But /u/asmallman, you said you would do 30C! Especially since 30C is the most common dilution you see!
Here is where the cosmically comical comes in.
A 30C dillution is diluting something by 1:100 thirty times. To write this differently, you would be doing 100^30, but a better way to write it is 10^60.
To have a 30C dilution of uranium, to make a SINGLE drop of truly... well and truly 30C dilution of a MOLE of uranium, you would need a SPHERE OF SOLVENT THE SIZE OF THE ENITRE SOLAR SYSTEM.
And in that drop, chances are you wouldnt have a SINGLE ATOM of uranium in it!
In short. A 30C dilution or a 30X of uranium is entirely safe to drink. Because theres no fucking uranium in it statistically. HOMEOPATHY IS A SCAM.
