NEW: Slovak PM Robert Fico has halted emergency electricity supplies to Ukraine starting today, calling it “the first reciprocal step” over the suspension of Russian oil transit via the Druzhba pipeline.
He said:
“If the Ukrainian side asks Slovakia for assistance in stabilizing its energy grid, such assistance will not be provided.”
Fico warned Slovakia could take further action — including reconsidering support for Ukraine’s EU membership — if oil flows aren’t restored.
“Slovakia has the right to receive oil supplies… we fully reserve the right to take further steps.”
He said:
