The U.S. and Israel have now struck Iran and the world is once again reminded how quickly “regional tensions” turn into global economic shockwaves.

Oil spikes, markets wobble, headlines scream about escalation and suddenly everyone realises the Middle East is not some distant unimportant place, but the artery of the global economy.

This situation impacts China immediately and directly, not because China is “backing” anyone militarily, but because China is deeply embedded in the real economy of the region.
