What’s special at BMW: The car design comes from within an internal competition. All designers pitch their drafts throughout several rounds of competition – until at the very end the overall winning design goes into series production.

Car brand BMW has unveiled an updated version of its electric iX SUV at the Consumer Electronics Show that can change colour from black to white in order to suit the driver's mood and conserve electricity.

Volkswagen has published a collection of sketches depicting its new Amarok pick-up truck. The model is “near-production”, so changes made after this point will likely be minimal. It has been developed by teams in Australia and Europe and will be made in South Africa.
With the exception of some wildly flaring wheel arches, it is clear that the sketches show a model that is close to being production-ready – every other element of the pick-up is familiar and traditional. There are no obtuse, Cybertruck-esque styling choices or advanced technology additions. Instead, VW has simply made a few changes over the old Amarok.

Polestar took the wraps off its newest show car this week under the sunny skies of Los Angeles, previewing what a convertible sports car might look like for the budding premium brand. Based heavily on the Precept concept shown in 2020, the O2 is a 2+2 roadster built on that same platform and shares many design cues.
“A project like this is always something that guys and girls really dream about doing. So for us, a brand like Polestar, we need this as a halo statement,” Maximillian Missoni, head of Polestar design, told us in an exclusive interview. “We have the same bonded aluminum unibody used in the Precept which is a very light and stiff structure, really good for sports cars, and I would say to be competitive in this high-end premium electric sports car segment, that’s a nice entry ticket.”

The all-electric prototype will be the protagonist in a new video that Block is producing together with his team for release in the next few months.
The S1 Hoonitron features two electric motors, all-wheel drive, power galore, a carbon fiber chassis, and the full safety standards as prescribed by FIA.
The entire development, including the technology, of the S1 Hoonitron was conducted by Audi Sport at the Neckarsulm location and was completed in just four weeks.

Audi Design in Ingolstadt was responsible for the styling, under the direction of Marc Lichte.

The package is set to feature in a new sports car, powered by Britishvolt cells and utilising advanced electric propulsion technologies developed by Lotus.
The official design sketch provides the first clues to a new Lotus EV sports car.

Britishvolt is the UK’s foremost investor in battery cell technologies and associated R&D to create homegrown intellectual property. Key focuses of the partnership will be fast-charging, optimising energy density and weight reduction.
Development work on the project will benefit from the close proximity of Lotus and Britishvolt’s R&D centres of excellence in the West Midlands, the UK’s ‘golden triangle’ of battery excellence. The Lotus Advanced Technology Centre (LATC) opened in Wellesbourne in 2020 as the global headquarters of Lotus Engineering, the consultancy division of the business.
