JUST IN - DHS release a statement saying that the fatally shot man approached Border Patrol while armed with a handgun, after the suspect "violently resisted" disarming, "Fearing for his life and the lives and safety of fellow officers, an agent fired defensive shots."

UPDATE - Minneapolis Police Chief confirms that the man who was fatally shot is a 37 year old, white male, American citizen, resident of Minneapolis and a lawful gun owner with permission to carry.

JUST IN - The man fatally shot by ICE has been identified as ICU nurse Alex Jeffrey Pretti.

37-year-old Pretti was a U.S. citizen, an Air Force veteran with an address listed in South Minneapolis and had no serious criminal record with only a few parking tickets. He was a lawful gun owner with a permit and had a nursing license that was issued in 2021 and remains active.

Today, DHS law enforcement was conducting a targeted operation in Minneapolis against an illegal alien wanted for violent assault.

During the operation, an individual approached U.S. Border Patrol officers with a 9mm semi-automatic handgun. The officers attempted to disarm the suspect but the armed suspect violently resisted. Fearing for his life and the lives and safety of fellow officers, an agent fired defensive shots.

This violence is directly fueled by hateful rhetoric from Minnesota's sanctuary politicians. It must end now.
