TIL a flight attendant saved a young girl who was being human trafficked and was accompanied by an older man who wouldn’t let her speak. Flight attendant left a note in the bathroom, the girl indicated she needed help. The pilot was informed, and authorities were waiting when the plane landed.

TIL in 1896, New York passed the Raines law to reduce Sunday drinking. The law had a loophole that allowed bars to serve alcohol only with a meal. To circumvent this, staff added a sandwich to every drink order, then took it away and served it to the next customer. The sandwich often lasted all day.

TIL 18 aircraft from the US Army Air Forces' 100th Bombardment Group were sent on an Allied bombing raid on Münster, Germany in 1943. 5 were forced to turn back before reaching Münster & of the 13 that carried on, only 1 plane returned to base. The group became known as the "Bloody Hundredth."
