TIL pigs can be taught to play video games. They are able to control a cursor with a joystick and move it to the indicated area. They tried the same game with dogs, but even after extensive training dogs weren't able to understand the goal. Pigs even beat chimpanzees.

TIL that Joanne Barnaby was being stalked by a wolf in the forest when she came across a bear that was separated from her cub. Exhausted, she decided to stand between the bear and her cub in the hopes that the bear would find the wolf threatening. It did, attacking the wolf while she escaped.

TIL that John Caglione Jr, the makeup artist responsible for Heath Ledgers Joker, had Ledger scrunch and contort his face as he applied the makeup. This had the affect of creating lines and creases in the paint to make it look like the character had been wearing his makeup for days.

TIL that in 1932 three bear species and wolves were put in the same enclosure. They lived peacefully at first, but the polar bears eventually drowned multiple black bears by pushing them into a pool and holding them down. The manager blamed the black bears for “not learning not to go near the pool.”
