TIL that Thích Quảng Đức's heart not only endured his self-immolating protest against South Vietnamese government's persecution of Buddhists, but also resisted the re-cremation at his funeral. His actual charred heart became a Buddhist relic, symbol of compassion, and was stolen by government later.

TIL: Pigeons are a invasive non-native feral animals. They are the world's oldest domestic bird and were domesticated between 5,000 and 10,000 years ago from the Rock Dove. The birds adapted well to life in the city because building ledges mimic sea cliffs where they originally lived and nested.

TIL that scientists in Tel Aviv have found that soon after a bee flies past an Evening Primrose, the flower increases the sugar content of its nectar by 30%. Playing bee sounds has a similar effect, but there is no effect on the flower when other vibrations are emitted.
