Our recommended set up will always be a public portal channel + a private group.

Reason being, a public channel requires little to no preset needed and you do not receive notification from new subscribers.
Where else have a group chat as a portal will require more setups like deleting service messages, muting everyone.

In the event of any bot attack, they will be stopped at the portal channel by Guardian before they can do anything.
This will save you from getting spam by the welcome messages you have set for every new member that joins.

Why Guardian?

Guardian offers a level of protection that is not available on any other entry portal.

Most of the current portal setups are using an easily hacked in-TG captcha; emoji, words matching, math equation. By creating an image identifier bot with relevant instructions, one can easily solve / by-pass the captcha and bot.

Guardian uses their own servers as the “middle man” for the authentication process plus a real off TG captcha system. With this, it is able to stop Botters in their tracks more effectively.

A few days older than a week, our stats have exponentially increased and we have been receiving a lot of positive feedback about Guardian. Of course we have also received complains about how hard it is to differentiate smiling dogs and cloud horses. Thanks to hCaptcha.

The reason why hCaptcha is being used here is because it’s well-established and reputable, they have a strict privacy policy to ensure no sharing of data, and most importantly even with their outstanding security it is easy to use; the interface is simple and straightforward.

If we look at every project as a company, bot infiltration is intolerable. An in-TG solution does not seem to be able to protect against such attacks entirely. Thus, we sought for an off-TG solution, through which no sensitive user data is stored or accessible, but security is maintained.

Quick guide:
- Guardian needs to be in both the public channel (Entry Portal) and private group (Main chat) and be made admin.
- Type /setup in the main chat.
- Forward the Portal Verification Token to the Portal channel.

Depending on the purpose of your chat group, here are a few settings to take note of:

- Disable the "Add users" permission for all members. No portal is secured enough if you left a backdoor open. Setup guardian will auto disable it.

- Make chat history "visible" for all members, you can turn it off later if you like. This is to enable supergroup. (00.52)

- Edit the portal to your preference. First impression counts.

Recently, we have been receiving feedbacks about botters passing through Guardian and flooding chats, as far as we are concerned and as secured as hCaptcha is, the only few ways to get pass the guardian is to solve hCaptcha manually or through entry loop-holes when the chat group was set up. Therefore, we decide to step up and provide some in-chat controls.

We have come out with an user-friendly and efficient antiflood solution.
