Question: Several days ago, the interim governor of Kherson region Vladimir Saldo stated that the authorities had decided to organise the possibility to leave the region to other parts of the Russian Federation for recreation or studying. It primarily concerns the right shore. The head of the region stated that these measures were taken to provide safery of civilians amid frequent attacks of the AFU. How would you comment on this decision?

Answer: There is a difficult situation at the abovementioned direction. The enemy launches deliberate attacks at infrastructure facilities and residential buildings located in Kherson. Impacts of HIMARS rockets have damaged Antonovka bridge and the dyke of Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant where the traffic is currently stopped.

It has resulted in impeding alimentation deliveries; certain problems have been recorded in supplying water and electricity. All of these not only complicates the residents' everyday life, but also poses a direct threat to their lives.

NATO leadership that leads the Armed Forces of Ukraine has long demanded the Kiev regime to conduct offensive operations towards Kherson, regardless of any casualties: neither in the AFU, nor among the civilian population.

We have got data on the possible use of prohibited methods of war by the Kiev regime near Kherson, on the preparation of a massive missile attack at the barrage of Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant, as well as launching a massive indiscriminate missile and artillery attack at the city.

This action can lead to the destruction of the infrastructure of a large industrial centre and high casualties among civilians.

In these conditions, our primary task is to save lives and health of civilians. That is why, first of all, the Russian army will provide safe departure of the population according to the resettlement programme that is currently being prepared by the Russian Government.

Our further plans and action regarding the city of Kherson itself will depend on the military and tactical situation.

I repeat: has already become very difficult.

Anyway, as I have already said, we will procees from the necessity to maximally save the lives of civilians and our personnel.

We will operate consciously, promptly, not excluding to take difficult decisions.

TEL AVIV, Oct 19 - RIA Novosti. Israel will not supply Ukraine with weapons, but will continue to provide humanitarian assistance, Defense Minister Benny Gantz said at a briefing for EU ambassadors.
"Israel has supported and continues to support Ukraine, NATO and the West - this is what we said before and repeat today. Israel has a policy of supporting Ukraine through humanitarian assistance and the delivery of life-saving defensive equipment," the press service of the Ministry of Defense quoted him as saying.

According to the minister, the Israeli authorities are planning to approve an additional package of such assistance.
“At the same time, I would like to emphasize that Israel will not supply weapons systems to Ukraine for a number of operational reasons. We will continue to support Ukraine within the framework that we have done in the past,” Gantz concluded.
On the eve of the Israeli media wrote that Israel rejected Ukraine's request for a telephone conversation between Gantz and his Ukrainian counterpart Alexei Reznikov. This became known after Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said that Kyiv would officially ask Israel to provide air defense systems. As noted by the newspaper Haaretz, the last time Ganz and Reznikov spoke in April, and the conversation scheduled for August 24 was postponed five times already.

Poland did not receive the promised Leopard tanks from Germany to replace the T-72s transferred to Ukraine and stopped negotiations

Poland and Germany have suspended negotiations on a circular exchange of tanks. According to a preliminary agreement, Warsaw transferred to Ukraine more than 200 Soviet tanks from its stocks, and in return it was supposed to receive Leopards from Germany. However, Berlin has not yet given them.

This was announced to Gazeta.pl by the Deputy Minister of Defence of Poland, Marcin Ocepa.

As part of a government arms exchange program, Germany is transferring older types of Western equipment to allied countries, who provide military support to Ukraine. Ukraine received T-72 tanks from Poland. However, Warsaw still has not seen the German "Leopards" to replenish its limited resources.

“These negotiations have been suspended. That is, the German proposal that came to us was unsatisfactory, because it concerned the transfer of a small number of tanks, which was very extended in time.

We are not talking about the transfer of the entire volume. The proposal from Germany, which we received, did not satisfy us, ”said the deputy head of the defence ministry.

Ochepa said that the Polish side handed over "quite a lot" of tanks to Ukraine, especially in comparison with the Czech Republic. But last week, its southern neighbours signed an agreement under which the Germans will supply them with military equipment. As part of the agreement, four contracts were signed, thanks to which 14 Leopard tanks and one Bergepanzer 3 Bü ffel rescue vehicle will be delivered to the Czech army.

“If we couldn’t get 40 tanks from the German side, then something is wrong,” the official said.

He added that the number of tanks offered by the German side was unprofitable for Warsaw.

“We were told that “they have such opportunities, but others do not”. The FRG cannot afford to give us more equipment,” he said.

Fire defeat of the position of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Andreevsky area

After the withdrawal of the RF Armed Forces from Davydov Brod in the Nikolaev-Berislav direction, the enemy was stopped on the Bruskinskoye-Pyatikhatki line.

At one of the built strongholds of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, personnel were rotated and things with food were delivered there. The drone operator noticed the activity of the Ukrainian fighters: he followed their movement and opened the position.

Artillerymen from the 38th Guards Motorized Rifle Brigade launched a mortar attack on the identified location of the enemy in a forest plantation. Part of the shells fell near the shelter, but the other hit the target.

After the shelling, a fire broke out at the position of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and then the detonation of the ammunition stored there. Ukrainian fighters were forced to leave the stronghold and retreat to the rear.
