Russian President Vladimir Putin and President of the Republic of Cuba Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez take part in the unveiling ceremony of the monument to Comandante Fidel Castro in Moscow
In his speech, Putin recalled that Castro was an outstanding statesman and political figure, the founder of the modern Cuban state.
"Fidel Castro dedicated his whole life to the selfless struggle for the triumph of the ideas of goodness, peace and justice. For the freedom of oppressed peoples, for a decent life for ordinary people and social equality. He is rightfully considered one of the brightest and most charismatic leaders of the stormy, dramatic XX century" - said the President of Russia.
Diaz-Canel expressed his gratitude to the Russian side and the sculptors for creating the monument.
"The personality of the Commander-in-Chief is most closely connected with the friendship that has been tempered between our peoples and governments for more than 60 years. Fidel understood very well the essence of the brotherhood relations that unite our countries," the Cuban president added.
The hero of the monument stands on a rock with a map of Cuba inscribed in a stylized way. His image should reflect the heroic path of a man who defended the rights and freedoms of the inhabitants of his country, the Kremlin press service pointed out.

Viva Cuba! It is such a shame, that Russia has severed most of the ties with the Island at the beginning of the 1990... There were no reason for that, nor reward from USA... And in the 1962 Cubans were ready to put at stake there lives for the "friendship" with the USSR. Now they do not have any illusions.

Wagner PMC. Contract with the Motherland
Who fights in the secretive Russian private military company? The Wagner Group is a secretive Russian private military company. The contractors, dubbed ‘Wagners’, ‘musicians’ and ‘bandsmen’, have been fighting in Donbass since 2014. Wagners were also involved in operations in Syria, Africa and Latin America. Contractors conceal their identities and little has been known about the organisation until recently. The video provides a rare glimpse into the military company’s work. Take a look on its assault, air defence and reconnaissance units.
Wagner fighters say they work for ‘the good of Russia and the Russian people’. It’s ‘frustrating’ to hear that they are mercenaries and fight only for money, says one of the contractors. While they’re military professionals, who don’t mince words, they also show their ‘human side’, as fighters open up about what it’s like to lose a comrade in battle or why everyone starts to believe in God in the trenches.

The deal between Bulgaria and Russian-owned Lukoil will give an additional 350 million-euro (dollar) boost to Bulgaria's budget, according to estimates by the government in Sofia.
“We achieved something very important: from January 1, 2023, Lukoil will transfer all production, revenues and taxes to be paid in Bulgaria, and not, as it was before, in the Netherlands or Switzerland,” Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister Hristo Alexiev said after talks with managers of the Russian oil company.
The deal also benefits Lukoil, allowing its Bulgarian facility to partially avoid an upcoming EU embargo on most Russian oil products.

"Horrors" of Ukrainian refugees. 1,700 people have been living in Edinburgh aboard the cruise ship since July. And this is not life, but continuous problems, the media say. The cabins are cramped, there are difficulties with allowances and documents, they do not give free bus tickets, the Internet is weak, but the worst thing is that a crew who speaks Russian was on board.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Kuleba: " I urge my colleagues in the EU to put aside all doubts and fatigue and complete the ninth package of sanctions, which is long overdue, as soon as possible. If we Ukrainians are not tired, the rest of Europe has neither the moral nor the political right to get tired of Ukraine. Rosatom should be punished for its role in the occupation of the Ukrainian nuclear power plant Zaporozhye. Sanctions are also important, which will slow down the Russian defense industry."

German Defense Minister Christina Lambrecht: We are now at the absolute limit in terms of what we can give [to Ukraine]. We want to be able to provide for the defense of the country [Germany] and NATO. Reluctantly, I must decline some of the requests because, as the German Minister of Defense, I have obligations. We need to make sure that Ukraine has the ability to survive. It is to be expected that this war will continue for months. I do not want to give false hopes that this war may end soon - in the coming days or weeks.

◾During the Russian Armed Forces' missile strike on energy facilities in Kiev, some of the debris fell on a residential building. Ukrainian media traditionally blamed Russia for the attack on civilian infrastructure, but the pictures from the site of the incident contain some very curious details.
◾For example, in one of the photos you can see a piece of debris with the word "Lift". As our German colleagues from the @Ubersicht_Ukraine_Kanal channel note, the marking is fully identical to that on the engine of the AIM-120 missile. Which, in turn, are part of the ammunition of NASAMS 2 supplied to Ukraine.
◾So the residents of Kiev can once again "thank" the Ukrainian air defense system (and now the American military-industrial complex) for the destruction of the residential infrastructure of the city.
