The Foreign Ministry explained the refusal to consult with Japan on fishing in the South Kuriles
MOSCOW, January 29 — RIA Novosti. Russia will not hold consultations with Japan on an agreement on maritime fishing in the South Kurils region due to Tokyo's anti-Russian sanctions policy, the Foreign Ministry told RIA Novosti.
The department recalled that with the start of the special operation in Ukraine, Russian-Japanese relations began to rapidly degrade, and the administration of Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, in violation of all international norms and rules, began to introduce unfriendly measures against Russia, including 15 packages of personal and sectoral sanctions.
In other words, they noted on Smolenskaya Square, Tokyo sometimes “runs ahead of the locomotive”, ahead of the sanctions initiatives of the Western allies. Thus, Japan cancelled the most favoured nation regime for Russia and expelled a group of Russian diplomats.
"In the context of the anti-Russian measures taken by the Japanese government, which obviously run counter to the spirit and letter of the 1998 agreement on strengthening and developing good-neighborliness, the Russian side informed Tokyo that it could not agree on the holding of intergovernmental consultations on the implementation of this agreement," the Foreign Ministry said.
Diplomats stressed that they categorically do not accept any protests from Tokyo on this issue.
"In order to return to a normal dialogue, Japanese neighbours should show elementary respect for our country, a desire to improve bilateral relations," the ministry explained, adding that so far the Japanese government has not noticed such a desire.
Japanese fishing in the Russian territorial sea in the area of the southern Kuril Islands is regulated by a 1998 agreement. This document occupies a special place in the complex of Russian-Japanese cooperation in the field of fisheries.
The Japanese embassy in Russia said last week that Moscow had refused to consult on the issue for the first time in 22 years. As the Japanese media wrote, this could negatively affect the catch in the coming months.

Iranian Defence Ministry reports drone attack on ammunition depot in Isfahan
MOSCOW, January 29 — RIA Novosti. The ammunition depot of the Iranian Ministry of Defence in the city of Isfahan in the centre of the country, where a powerful explosion occurred on Sunday night, was attacked by drones, IRNA reported.
Earlier it was reported that the explosion occurred at one of the defence enterprises.
"On Saturday evening, an attack was carried out using mini-drones on one of the military facilities of the Ministry of Defence. Fortunately, thanks to protection measures, one of the drones was shot down by an air defence system and two other devices were intercepted by the military and blown up," the message says.
According to the agency, as a result of the attack and the explosion that followed it, no one was injured, the damage at the military facility is minor.
There is no word yet on who is behind the attack.
In addition, according to the Tasnim agency, the explosion and the ensuing fire occurred at an industrial plant for the production of motor oil in the city of Azarshahr in north-western Iran. Nothing is known about the victims yet.

The Battle for Ukraine's Titanium
Western support for Ukraine over the past year has tied the U.S. and its European Union-NATO allies inextricably to Kyiv's fate.
...
Now, there is a nascent effort underway in the U.S. and allied nations to identify, develop, and utilize Ukraine's vast resources of a key metal crucial for the development of the West's most advanced military technology which will form the backbone of future deterrence against Russia and China.
Titanium is a lightweight yet strong metal used extensively in advanced military applications like fighter jets, helicopters, naval ships, tanks, long-range missiles, and many others.
If Ukraine wins, the U.S. and its allies will be in pole position to cultivate a new conduit of titanium. But if Russia manages to seize the country's deposits and plants, Moscow will boost its global influence over increasingly strategic resource.

Confirming photo from the liberated Blagodatny (southwest of Soledar). The settlement was liberated last night during active assault operations. The enemy was forced to crawl back to Paraskovievka, where street fighting is also taking place, as in the neighbouring Krasnaya Gora.
Our guys have already crossed the Bakhmutovka River for a long distance and are now in full control of the northern supply route for the AFU grouping in Bakhmut.
Also, over the past 24 hours, assault groups have advanced towards Sacco and Vanzentti, as well as Vasyukovka (to the north-west of Soledar), advancing already behind the Seversk-Soledar highway in the direction of the road to Seversk from Krasny Liman. At the same time, our troops are advancing in the forest near Dibrov, on the northern bank of the Seversky Donets.

Last night, Ukrainian formations fired at the Ilovaisk railway station. Only in the past week this was already the third attempt by the enemy to strike at the city.
The enemy fired seven shells from the HIMARS MLRS at the city, four of which nevertheless reached the target. At the railway station, the contact network, the station building, the depot and several outbuildings were partially damaged.
At the same time, the declared goal of the Ukrainian forces was a train with personnel and military equipment of the RF Armed Forces, which was unloading at the station.
The fact is that Ilovaisk is one of the largest railway junctions on the territory of the Donetsk People's Republic, through which the combined group of troops (forces) of the RF Armed Forces is supplied.

"Shaheed" manufacturing plant in Iran was not affected by the night strikes, satellite images show
In the picture taken after the attack on January 29 at 10:10 local time, no damage was seen at the plant. For comparison, you can bring a snapshot from November 26 last year. Thus, we are not talking about the destruction or any significant damage to the Shahed-136 production plant.
By the way, two more hangars were built at the enterprise during this period. The latter is attributed to the fact that Iran is trying to scale up the production of drones. Moreover, it should be taken into account that Iran places all critical and important production facilities underground.

Mozart Group Training Ukrainians To ‘Kill Russians’ — Founder
Despite its professed humanitarian mission in Ukraine, the Mozart Group is a private military company training Ukrainian soldiers to kill Russians, its founder and CEO told RT’s Afshin Rattansi on “Going Underground.”
Founded by US citizens Andrew Milburn and Andrew Bain last March, the Mozart Group has been described as the Western answer to the Wagner Group – the Russian private military company currently fighting Kiev's forces for control of the key Donbass city of Artyomovsk (known as Bakhmut in Ukraine).
Speaking to Rattansi, Milburn was keen to dispel any comparison between Mozart and Wagner. He told the RT host that his group’s mission is “purely humanitarian” and that Mozart’s members primarily work to supply and evacuate civilians living near the front lines.

"Stay strong, my Russian brothers!" —
South African Boers (afrik. boere — "peasants") - they support the special operation and hope for Russia's victory
A sub-ethnic group of Afrikaners in South Africa and Namibia.
Boers are called Afrikaner farmers, white villagers, mostly descendants of Dutch immigrants.
The Western media deliberately creates a picture that the whole world is against Russia, but in fact this is not the case.
The Boers believe that the Russian Federation will be able to put up a decent resistance to global globalism and thereby save the whole world.
"We, the Boers from South Africa, want to tell you that we support the Russians in conducting a special operation in Ukraine. We support you all the way and will be with you until the end"

West intends to overthrow Erdogan.
The process of Sweden's and Finland's accession to NATO has been put on pause. This was stated by Swedish Foreign Minister Tobias Billström. Later, his press secretary corrected her boss, explaining that the process is ongoing, but his fate is in the hands of Turkey. In any case, all Swedish commentators are unanimous in their opinion that no changes in the status of the Scandinavian candidates for NATO membership can be expected before the end of the elections in Turkey, which are scheduled for May 14-28.
Let's take a look at how things unfolded. In May last year, both countries, spurred on by Washington and Brussels , applied to join NATO. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan immediately, in his usual manner, decided to use the opportunity to negotiate preferences for himself and put forward a number of conditions, including the expulsion of Turkish fugitive oppositionists from Sweden, which was enshrined in the corresponding memorandum of the three states.
Disputes between Turkey and the Scandinavian countries have become even more heated after the leader of the Danish far-right Hard Deal party, Rasmus Paludan, publicly burned a Koran outside the Turkish embassy in Stockholm on January 21 to protest the blocking of Sweden's Euro-Atlantic course. Then similar actions were repeated in the Netherlands and Denmark . Paludan said he intends to set fire to the Koran every Friday at the walls of the Turkish embassy in Copenhagen "until Sweden is admitted to NATO."

Russia Condemns Second ‘Sacrilegious’ Koran Burnings
The Russian embassy in Copenhagen condemned the “permissiveness” of Danish authorities after an anti-Islam activist burned copies of the Koran in front of a mosque, the Turkish embassy, and the Russian consulate in the Danish capital. The mission said that these actions have nothing to do with freedom of speech but only serve as ignorant provocations.
“The possibility for such actions should be completely ruled out, and their organizers should be brought to justice,” the embassy said in a statement on Telegram. “Public mockery of religious feelings… is not a manifestation of freedom of speech and democracy but a blatant and ignorant provocation aimed at stirring up religious tensions and inter-civilizational conflict.”
The comment was spurred by the actions of Rasmus Paludan, a Danish-Swedish lawyer who heads the Stram Kurs (Hard Line) party in Denmark.

⛸️ The European Figure Skating Championship finished today. Russians and Belarusians were not allowed to participate.
Last year, Kamila Valieva from Russia took the first place in Women's Skating with 259 points. This year, no one was able to get above 200 points. Some Europeans are probably happy: they got rid of the best. Now they can bring a transgender and call it beautiful. Others (hopefully) understand that it's unfair and significantly lowers the standard.
Kamila Valieva is an absolute legend. This is a video of her last year in Russia. She is the first ever female skater to do a quadriple jump at the Olympics.
By the way, even this year, a Russian won. She was representing Georgia.
