Claire Daley MEP for Ireland:
"By imposing sanctions on Russia, Europe thereby shot itself in both legs. The EU understands that the same measures against China would lead to a complete collapse of the economy. However, we are seeing hostile rhetoric in Europe towards China due to the fact that it has been influenced by the United States. Europe has found itself at the tail end of American politics. I still think that it is in our own interests for China to be on good terms with us, so that it continues to promote a multipolar world."

Xi Jinping, Emmanuel Macron call for Russia-Ukraine peace talks to take place soon
Chinese President Xi Jinping has said that China is willing to restart exchanges with the European Union on all levels. He spoke with French President Emmanuel Macron and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. The two European leaders are in…
Macron: no one should place nuclear weapons on foreign soil
Emmanuel Macron urged not to deploy nuclear weapons outside the countries with them
PARIS, April 6 — RIA Novosti. No country can deploy nuclear weapons on foreign soil, French President Emmanuel Macron said at a joint press conference with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
"France believes that nuclear weapons should be completely excluded from the conflict in Ukraine. In no case can nuclear weapons be placed outside the territory of a nuclear power, especially in Europe," the head of state said.
Russia's decision to deploy tactical nuclear weapons (TNW) in Belarus "is incomparable with its obligations under international law," the French leader argues.
"China and France, as permanent members of the UN Security Council and nuclear powers, given their history of love and commitment to independence, should work together to maintain an international order that can meet the challenges of the times," Macron added.
At the end of March, Vladimir Putin announced that Moscow and Minsk had agreed to deploy tactical nuclear weapons (TNW) in Belarus. The President stressed that this does not violate any international obligations, since there is no talk of transferring weapons. As the press secretary of the head of state Dmitry Peskov noted, the reaction of the West will not affect Moscow's plans. The construction of the storage facility will be completed by July 1.
Russia will do what the US has been doing for decades by deploying its tactical nuclear weapons in Europe, Putin pointed out. So, the States keep one hundred tactical nuclear weapons in the countries of the Old World. Charges with a capacity of 0.3 to 50 kilotons for the B61-3 and B61-4 bombs are stored at six bases in five NATO countries — Belgium, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Turkey.
Western critics of the Russian initiative do not mention the problem of storing American nuclear weapons in Germany. The German authorities do not comment on this topic. Leading international experts estimate the number of nuclear bombs in the country at several dozen units, and German opposition parties have been demanding the withdrawal of this type of weapons from the territory of the state for many years.

Macron fails to move Xi Jinping over Russia’s war on Ukraine
French leader also commits diplomatic faux pas at Beijing press conference.
BEIJING — Chinese President Xi Jinping showed no sign of changing his position over Russia’s war on Ukraine after talks Thursday with French counterpart Emmanuel Macron.
On the second day of Macron’s state visit to China, Xi took his long-standing line on Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine — saying that “all sides” have “reasonable security concerns” — and gave no hint he would use his influence to help end the conflict.
“China is willing to jointly appeal with France to the international community to remain rational and calm,” was as far as the Chinese leader would go during a press conference at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.
“Peace talks should be resumed as soon as possible, taking into account the reasonable security concerns of all sides with reference to the U.N. Charter … seeking political resolution and constructing a balanced, effective and sustainable European security framework,” he added, sitting next to Macron.
The French president arrived in China on Wednesday in the hope of pushing China to use its leverage with Russia to end the conflict, and to get Beijing to speak out against the Kremlin’s threat to host nuclear missiles in Belarus.
During his private meeting with Xi, Macron raised Western concerns that Beijing will deliver weapons to China, according to a French diplomat with knowledge of the talks. But the French leader didn’t seem to get far.
“The president urged Xi not to make deliveries to Russia that would help its war against Ukraine. Xi said this war is not his,” the diplomat said, speaking anonymously to describe the private session.
Xi and Macron then stepped in for their joint appearance, billed as a “press conference with Communist characteristics” — essentially meaning no press questions allowed.
The two leaders’ contrasting styles were immediately apparent. Xi read his carefully noscripted remarks while staring straight ahead before ceding to Macron. The French leader then proceeded to speak for roughly twice as long as his host — a protocol faux pas that members of Xi’s Chinese entourage noticed.
Xi himself at times looked impatient and annoyed as Macron continued speaking. The Chinese leader heaved several deep sighs and appeared uncomfortable as Macron addressed him directly while apparently ad-libbing on the Ukraine war and their joint responsibility to uphold peace.
Macron also appealed to Xi to explicitly condemn Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.
“Speaking about peace and stability means talking about the war waged by Russia against Ukraine. You’ve made some important comments,” the French leader said. “This is a war that involves all of us because a member of the Security Council has decided to violate the U.N. charter. We cannot accept that.”
...
Xi didn’t explicitly mention Russia in his remarks, though. And in a move likely to irk U.S. officials, Xi also said that China and France should “resume exchanges between the legislative bodies and militaries.” He then included France in a common refrain that Chinese officials use to criticize the U.S.

Chinese Foreign Ministry urges NATO to take responsibility for Ukraine
BEIJING, April 6 — RIA Novosti. The US and NATO must take responsibility for the Ukrainian issue, the alliance has no right to criticize China or put pressure on it, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said at a briefing on Thursday.
"China has always taken an objective and fair position on the issue of the Ukrainian crisis, Beijing is the initiator of a political settlement of the crisis, a supporter of promoting reconciliation and negotiations, and enjoys the support of most countries in the international community," Mao Ning said. She noted that the document outlining China's position on a political solution to the Ukrainian crisis comprehensively reflects the corresponding position, and history will ultimately show who really stands on the side of justice.
“As for the responsibility on the Ukrainian issue, I think that the United States and military blocs such as NATO should take responsibility, NATO has no right to criticize China or put pressure on it,” the diplomat said.
Earlier, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that the alliance is monitoring the strengthening of cooperation between Russia and China, against this background, it intends to increase interaction with partners in the Indo-Pacific region. He stressed that "China refused to condemn the Russian aggression, supports the Russian economy and propaganda." At the same time, Stoltenberg warned China against supplying weapons to Russia, arguing that this would be a "historical mistake" and "would have significant consequences."
At the end of February, the Chinese Foreign Ministry published a 12-point statement containing a position on the political settlement of the Ukrainian crisis. Among the main points are the need to respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries, the resumption of direct dialogue between Moscow and Kiev, and a call to prevent further escalation. China also opposed the abuse of unilateral sanctions in the context of the Ukrainian conflict, as they do not help resolve the crisis.

The media published the details of the NATO talks on Ukraine
FT: US, Germany and Hungary opposed Poland's proposals for Ukraine to join NATO
MOSCOW, April 6 — RIA Novosti. NATO countries could not come to a common position on Ukraine's entry into the alliance, writes the Financial Times, citing sources.
The US, Germany, Hungary are resisting efforts by countries such as Poland, as well as the Baltic countries, to offer Kiev deeper ties to NATO and convey clear statements of support for its future membership.
The interlocutors of the newspaper specified that this week the foreign ministers of the member countries of the bloc discussed what could be offered to Kyiv. During the discussion, considerable disagreement arose over whether to offer Ukraine a "road map" for membership in the alliance at the July summit in Vilnius.
"The United States, at the same time, opposed this proposal," the sources quoted the publication as saying.
Washington, according to the FT, calls for a focus on military, financial and humanitarian assistance to Kyiv.
On Thursday, the Lithuanian Seimas adopted a resolution on inviting Ukraine to NATO at a summit in Vilnius. At the same time, on the eve of the head of the country's Foreign Ministry, Gabrielius Landsbergis, said that no one expects the Ukrainian side to be accepted into the alliance by the start of the summit meeting.
At the end of September last year, Kyiv applied to join NATO on an accelerated basis. Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg then once again pointed to the "open door policy" and the right of each country to self-determination, but recalled that in order to accept a new member, the consent of all countries participating in the alliance is needed.
Moscow stressed that they are closely monitoring the situation and remember that it was Ukraine's orientation towards joining NATO that became one of the reasons for the start of the special operation.
The NATO summit in the Lithuanian capital will be held on July 11-12.

"We don't blackmail." Lukashenko and Putin spoke about the future
MOSCOW, April 6 — RIA Novosti. The Presidents of Russia and Belarus held two-day talks in Moscow. At a meeting of the Supreme State Council of the Union State (SG), the implementation of the agreement on the creation of the SG and joint work on 28 sectoral programs were discussed. Before that, the leaders met in private.
Nuclear waltz
The day before, head of the Foreign Intelligence Service Sergei Naryshkin visited Minsk. He declared full trust between the special services of the two countries. And Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that Belarus had already received the Iskander-M missile system, capable of delivering nuclear strikes. In addition, some aircraft of the Belarusian Air Force were reequipped for special ammunition. Warhead storage will be built by July.
Lukashenko was inspired by the opening prospects. "It will be necessary — Putin and I will decide and introduce strategic nuclear weapons here. And they must understand this — scoundrels who are abroad today are trying to blow us up from inside and outside. We will stop at nothing, protecting our countries, our states and their peoples," he stressed in his message to Belarusian citizens.
The news about the deployment of Russian nuclear weapons in Belarus excited the West. Russian Ambassador to the Republic Boris Gryzlov noted: “Finally, they are paying attention to the fact that there should be a certain parity. If we are talking about the deployment of American nuclear weapons in European countries — these are Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany and Turkey — then actions must be taken to which will increase the security of our Union State".
The first day
Russia and Belarus have been integrating into the Union State for more than 20 years. According to Lukashenka, 28 allied "road maps" have been implemented by about 80 percent. The economies of both countries will not fall apart under the pressure of Western sanctions, because together they resist them, the Belarusian leader assured. Problems can be overcome even in microelectronics.
“It turns out that they have found opportunities to work here too: missiles fly, and military equipment moves around here and here,” Lukashenko explained. “Everyone was frightened by hunger and cold. So what? the harvest is huge. It will be the same in industry.”
Putin also mentioned that a lot has already been done within the framework of joint work.
Second day
In the public part of the meeting of the Supreme State Council of the Union State, Lukashenko spoke more. According to him, the day before he held "fundamental talks" with Putin, largely devoted to security issues and the development of the military-industrial complex. “If necessary, we will use everything we have to protect our states and our peoples,” he repeated. “We are not blackmailing anyone, it will be so.”
However, the deployment of nuclear weapons in Belarus was not discussed at the meeting, said Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov. Instead, they decided to develop a draft unified Security Concept. This will help the sustainable economic development of the Union State, Putin said. The document will reflect the fundamental tasks in the area of growing tension and the unleashed sanctions and information war. At the same time, Lukashenka stressed that the Union State is the leader among integration projects in the post-Soviet space. “We move freely, we can work… We have no problems in this regard,” he assured.

Western sanctions do not bother him either: foreign microcircuits are needed only to assemble the iPhone, and they are not suitable for conquering space. There are no critical difficulties in other areas either. Ukraine delivers certain troubles, continued Moscow's main ally. According to him, the Belarusian-Ukrainian border is tightly closed, but the same cannot be said about the Russian-Ukrainian one. True, the FSB and the KGB are effectively combating emerging threats through joint efforts.
In turn, Putin thanked Lukashenka for his readiness to include assistance to students in the DPR and LPR in the humanitarian agenda of the Union State. "If these are not humanitarian issues, then what can be attributed to them? Education, assistance to children, young people — this, probably, should always be in the focus of our attention," Putin said.

Political scientist Andrei Suzdaltsev noted that every time Lukashenko comes to meet with Putin, he seeks to strengthen economic ties with Moscow.
“As for the deployment of nuclear weapons, this is also mutually beneficial. Russia will strengthen its security, and Lukashenko will position himself as the main guarantor of Russian missiles on his territory. That is, Moscow will have to protect him,” the expert argues.
Vladimir Zharikhin, deputy head of the Institute of CIS Countries, stressed that economic and security issues are the most important for both sides today. Moreover, there are no contradictions between them, since everyone understands that there is no time.
“With hard work, we managed to agree on 28 road maps. The countries continue their rapprochement in order to cope with Western pressure, but, apparently, they are not going to create supranational bodies. On the other hand, the current opportunities are quite enough to deepen cooperation in other areas ", — Zharikhin believes.
It is obvious that Lukashenka's visit to Russia is far from the last one. At the same time, contacts will develop not only along the lines of the Union State — Moscow and Minsk also bring the EAEU and the CSTO closer.

Ministry of Defense: AFU destroyed their own soldiers who surrendered, firing 300 shells at them
MOSCOW, April 6 — RIA Novosti. The Kiev regime deliberately destroys its military personnel in order to prevent attempts to retreat from their positions, the Ministry of Defence said.
So, on April 5, near Avdiivka, units of the Southern Group of Russian troops were active in capturing the enemy's stronghold.
“During the battle, the commander of the unit of the 53rd mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who was at the strong point, turned to the Russian command via an open radio channel, declaring that his unit of 14 people had voluntarily laid down their weapons and the desire to surrender,” the military department said.
In order for the Ukrainian fighters to be able to safely leave, the Russian military suspended hostilities. Until the morning, Ukrainian servicemen were placed in a dugout.
"At night, Ukrainian artillery purposefully opened heavy fire on the dugout where the surrendered Ukrainian servicemen were located," the Defence Ministry added.
In total, the Armed Forces of Ukraine fired about 300 large-caliber shells. All 14 fighters who laid down their arms were killed.
President Vladimir Putin spoke about this incident today at a meeting with the acting head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin. According to him, the Kiev regime is behaving in the highest degree cynical and cruel in relation not only to the Russians, but also to its citizens.

MOSCOW, April 6 — RIA Novosti. The Kiev regime deliberately destroys its military personnel in order to prevent attempts to retreat from their positions, the Ministry of Defence said.

Censorship: The Metaphaysics of Sovereign Culture
The topic of censorship is not only highly topical for our society (especially in the context of the SMO), but also philosophically fundamental. Contemporary Western culture increasingly resorts to censorship, despite trying to present liberalism as the abolition of all censorship criteria. In reality, what is censorship if not the most radical form of censoring any idea, image, doctrine, work or thought that does not fit into the narrow and increasingly exclusivist dogma of the 'open society'? Even today, at the Cannes Film Festival and other prestigious venues controlled by the West, it is impossible to pass by without the bare minimum: non-traditional forms of sexual identity, racial diversity, anti-colonial (and in fact neo-colonial liberal) discourse and so on. What else but a totalitarian and pandemic censorship is wokeism, i.e. an appeal to all citizens to be 'awake' and to report immediately to the relevant authorities as soon as they notice a hint of deviation from liberal values - racism (Russophobia is an exception), racism (racism is an exception here, as Russia is not politically correct), 'sexism', 'patriotism' (again, Ukrainian Nazism is an exception, which is welcome as it is a fight against 'Russians'), gender inequality (e.g. protection of the normal traditional family)? And isn't the infamous 'political correctness', which insistently and under threat of total ostracism forces us to avoid certain terms, expressions, quotations, formulations that might offend the sensibilities of liberal society, censorship? In today's West, we are faced with a veritable flowering of censorship and this is an undeniable fact, regardless of the synonyms that can be invented for it.
