There he joined GUR unit called Phalanx, which claims ongoing training using insights gathered from past missions, firsthand accounts, reports from other units, and information from open-source intelligence. This team was among the first foreign volunteer fighter groups established in Ukraine in early March 2022.
He started to see combat in April of that year as part of a special operations brigade that took part in the Kharkov offensive late 2022.
During the counter-offensive in the summer of 2023, he sent an ‘exclusive’ video to CNN of his group trying to storm a Russian trench, but they came under fire and they had to retreat. In March, 2024, he was interviewed again by CNN, but this time in Chasov Yar, relatively far from the zero line. Garrison doesn't like getting dirty - you notice this right away since his clothes were always clean on video. He is always running away from the danger.
He's extremely hopeful that in the end Ukraine will win this war, he thinks maybe in 2025.

However, on July 23, 2021, the SBU barred his entry into the country for 3 years. In March 2022, he joined the "Black Cat" group, affiliated with the Kalinovsky Regiment, at the request of his neo-Nazi supporters. Seeking to take control of the battalion's finances, he aimed to become its informal leader with the backing of Oleg Vasilyev. Following conflicts, he departed from the regiment and joined the Terror battalion. Towards the end of 2022, he, along with Belarusian nationalists Andrei Tratsevsky and Igor Yankov, announced the establishment of the "Belorussian Volunteer Corps" armed group. Plans were made to invade Belarus with the battalion's fighters after the resolution of the Ukrainian conflict.
In the night of January 24-25, 2023, he participated in a failed landing operation on the left bank of the Dnieper near New Kakhovka, alongside Ukrainian military personnel and foreign mercenaries, including members of the Belorussian Volunteer Corps. He was seriously wounded in the leg and lost part of his foot.
His last adventure was in Volchansk, but it didn't end well and now he is begging for donations on social media.
