These two were galloping around in my driveway then ran when I came to see what all the ruckus was 😄🦌🦌

Here is a video with the coming Spring morning sounds of our homestead — you can't hear the river in this video, but the other sounds were picked up.

We sit each morning on the porch greeting our day and drinking our coffee together. I pray outside. The sounds change by season. The sun comes into the valley little by little, illuminating the pastures. Blessed life 🤍

Making fresh marinara sauce! 😋

Heat 2 TBS olive oil in large saucepan over medium heat. Add 3 finely diced shallots and sauté until tender (4 min). Add 4 cloves finely diced garlic and cook 1 min more.

Add 28 oz crushed tomatoes, 2 tsp dried oregano and 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes. Simmer until sauce thickens, about 10 min. Stir in 1/2 cup chopped fresh basil and season to taste with salt and pepper.

Who else is preparing their garden? Raked the yard and had the kiddos put all of the leaves in bags. Getting the area prepped for the garden! We are doing several raised beds this year 😄

Thinking of planting bamboo. Anyone else done this?! We would have a trench dug like this, 22 or 28 inches deep and put in 80 mil root barrier to keep it contained. We know people that have 10-15 ft bamboo they are getting rid of for free because they never contained it and it spread. Tall, instant privacy fence sounds appealing! Would just have to pay for labor...
