UN's humanitarian chief Tom Fletcher told BBC this morning that up to 14,000 babies in Gaza could die within 48 hours without immediate aid.

He called for a massive influx of humanitarian assistance and said the estimate is based on reports from UN teams on the ground, many of whom have been killed by Israel.

Israeli opposition leader and former IDF Deputy Chief Yair Golan has ignited a political firestorm after declaring what many around the world have already been screaming for months: “A sane country does not kill babies as a hobby.”
The damning statement, made during a May 20 radio interview, directly targeted Israel’s far-right government over its relentless bombing of Gaza, a campaign that has killed at least 17,400 Palestinian children since October 2023.
Golan accused Netanyahu’s coalition of dragging Israel into moral collapse and international disgrace, branding their war strategy as reckless, inhumane, and criminal.
Rather than reflect, Israel’s leadership responded with manufactured outrage. Netanyahu denounced the comments as “blood libel,” while the IDF’s top brass rushed to defend their image, even as Gaza's hospitals report infants burned, crushed, and buried under rubble.

🇮🇱🇪🇺 The Israeli military fired on delegates from Europe.

The foreign delegation in Jenin, West Bank, included officials from the UK, France, Netherlands, Spain, Norway, Italy and Canada fell into fire by the Israeli army

Representatives of some Arab nations were among the delegation too.

The IDF says the European diplomatic delegation deviated from the agreed-upon route and entered an area that is prohibited from entry.
