This comes as parties begin to implement the 20 Point Plan for peace and reconstruction in Gaza, with Egyptian military forces having accumulated near the border for some time leading up to the agreement being put in force today.

Egypt will also begin building a new displacement camp near Bureij in the very center of the Gaza strip. Bureij is the location of important aid distribution, and where the UNRWA runs elementary schools for Palestinian children.
