Edward Durr, GOP truck driver who spent $150 on campaign, leads NJ Senate President Sweeney
In the middle of a fiercely contested race for governor in New Jersey, a potentially historic upset is bubbling in the state's senate race that would see a humble truck driver who spent only $150 on his campaign unseat the longest-tenured legislature in New Jersey history.
"I knew it would be a major upset," Edward Durr told FOX 29's Steve Keeley on Wednesday. Durr is the GOP candidate running opposite of Steve Sweeney in the race for New Jersey District 3 State Senator.
Sweeney is currently the state senate president and has been a senator for over 20 years representing Cumberland, Gloucester and Salem counties.

The best part about this is how the Resident both screwed up the plan by DOJ to actually pursue this "garbage" up AND inadvertently made sure he & his can't walk/nuance it back.

OSHA announces new federal vaccine mandate for businesses—and gives employers until Jan. 4 to comply
More than a month after President Joe Biden floated the idea of a federal vaccine mandate for private employers, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration released the new rules of the road for businesses on Thursday.
Companies, including federal contractors, will have until Jan 4 to ensure workers are fully vaccinated, a holiday reprieve many businesses were hoping for.
Companies will not be required to pay for the weekly testing that will be required for unvaccinated employees after that date.
The vaccine compliance deadline for federal workers, with no testing option, remains Nov. 22.
Biden called on the OSHA to issue an emergency temporary standard that would require private businesses with at least 100 employees to put vaccine mandates in place or ensure workers are taking part in weekly testing.

Authorities Arrest Analyst Who Contributed to Steele Dossier
Federal authorities on Thursday arrested an analyst who in 2016 gathered leads about possible links between Donald J. Trump and Russia for what turned out to be Democratic-funded opposition research, according to people familiar with the matter.
The arrest of the analyst, Igor Danchenko, is part of the special counsel inquiry led by John H. Durham, who was appointed by the Trump administration to scrutinize the Russia investigation for any wrongdoing, the people said.
Mr. Danchenko, was the primary researcher of the so-called Steele dossier, a compendium of rumors and unproven assertions suggesting that Mr. Trump and his 2016 campaign were compromised by and conspiring with Russian intelligence officials in Moscow’s covert operation to help him defeat Hillary Clinton.

Britain authorizes Merck’s molnupiravir, the world’s first approval of oral covid-19 treatment pill
Regulators in Britain granted approval to the experimental drug molnupiravir from U.S. pharmaceutical giant Merck on Thursday, marking the first authorization from a public health body for an oral antiviral treatment for covid-19 in adults.
Experts have said that if widely authorized, the medicine could have huge potential to help fight the coronavirus pandemic: Pills are easier to take, manufacture and store, making them particularly useful in lower- to middle-income countries with weaker infrastructure and limited vaccine supplies.
“We will continue to move with both rigor and urgency to bring molnupiravir to patients around the world as quickly as possible,” Merck President Robert M. Davis said in a statement.

China's Advice to Stockpile Sparks Speculation of Taiwan War
A seemingly innocuous government recommendation for Chinese people to store necessities for an emergency quickly sparked scattered instances of panic-buying and online speculation: Is China going to war with Taiwan?
Taiwan is a self-governing island of 24 million people China regards as a renegade province that should come under its rule. Tensions have risen sharply recently, with China sending a growing number of warplanes on sorties near the island and the U.S. selling arms to Taiwan and deepening its ties with the government.
Most residents interviewed in Beijing, the Chinese capital, thought war was unlikely but acknowledged the rising tensions. They generally favored bringing Taiwan under Chinese rule by peaceful means, the official position of China's long-ruling Communist Party.

Ohio Republicans introduce abortion ban bill similar to Texas law
Ohio House Republicans have introduced legislation to ban all abortions in the state, going even a step further than the recent Texas bill that is now the most restrictive in the nation
House Bill 480 is co-sponsored by over half of Ohio House GOP conference. Similar to the Texas law, Ohio's proposal would allow "any person" to file a civil lawsuit seeking $10,000 or more against anyone in the state who performs an abortion or "knowingly engages in conduct that aids or abets the performance or inducement of an abortion," which includes insurance paying for one.
The bill is noscriptd 2363 Act, which refers to the average daily number of abortions performed in the United States in 2017.

Jonathan Turley says that Igor Danchenko’s arrest is a “seismic development.”
He said that the indictment shows that Durham has a lot of new information and that Democrat operatives were in Moscow meeting with Russian figures.
He goes on to explain that the unnamed person in the indictment known as “PR Executive-1” who is described as a close advisor to Hillary Clinton, is “the person that should be most concerned” about these recent developments 👀
