Judge orders NYPD union members fired over vax mandate reinstated

In a major victory for members of the NYPD’s largest police union, a judge ruled Friday cops who were fired for not getting vaccinated against the coronavirus have to be reinstated.

Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Lyle Frank wrote that the city’s vaccine mandate on the Police Benevolent Association was invalid “to the extent it has been used to impose a new condition of employment” on the union.

The mandate was also invalid because it issued enforcement beyond “monetary sanctions” prescribed in the law.

DOJ charges 47 with stealing $250 million from a pandemic food program for kids

The DOJ indicted 47 in what they describe as "the largest pandemic relief fraud scheme charged to date."

The 47 defendants who allegedly cheated the government out of $250 million that was supposed to be used to feed needy kids in Minnesota during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The indictments involve six groups, all connected to the group Feeding Our Future, a Minnesota nonprofit. The federal crimes they are charged with include

Feeding Our Future went from receiving and disbursing about $3.4 million in federal funds in 2019 to nearly $200 million in 2021.

FBI misled judge who signed warrant for Beverly Hills seizure of $86 million in cash

Newly unsealed court documents show that the FBI and U.S. attorney’s office in Los Angeles got their warrant for the raid by misleading the judge who approved it.

Agents took photos and videos of pay stubs, password lists, credit cards, a prenuptial agreement, immigration and vaccination records, bank statements, heirlooms and a will, court records show. In one box, agents found cremated human remains.

What was in their warrant request?… A central part of the FBI’s plan:

Permanent confiscation of everything inside every box containing at least $5,000 in cash or goods, a senior FBI agent recently testified.

The FBI’s justification ?:
Its’ presumption that hundreds of unknown box holders were all storing assets somehow tied to unknown crimes.

In 5 days they seized: More than $86 million in cash and a bonanza of gold, silver, rare coins, gem-studded jewelry and enough Rolex and Cartier watches to stock a boutique.

A class-action suit was filed. Plaintiffs have asked U.S. District Judge R. Gary Klausner to declare the raid unconstitutional. If he grants the request, it could force the FBI to return millions of dollars to box holders whose assets it has tried to confiscate.

It could also spoil an unknown number of criminal investigations by blocking prosecutors from using any evidence or information acquired in the raid, including guns and drugs.
