Trump 'loves the idea of testifying' before Jan. 6 committee: source close to the former president

If Trump complied with the subpoena and testified, he would "talk about how corrupt the election was, how corrupt the committee was, and how Nancy Pelosi did not call up the National Guard that Trump strongly recommended for her to do three days earlier on January 3, 2021."

It is unclear at this point if Trump actually will testify before the committee, but stressed that Trump "loves the idea."

💻The laptop:The FBI wants two more weeks so it can prepare a motion for reconsideration. “As a courtesy, we have not objected to the request.”According to the government’s motion, “the FBI is uncertain how to comply with the Court’s order as written, and the FBI is seeking input from a pending appellate consultation regarding the order to properly address this issue.” 🤔

Jan. 6 panel boomerang: Final hearing undercuts two key Democrat talking points

📌First, they belatedly decided to subpoena the central character in their Jan. 6 narrative, Donald Trump. This happened as the committee plans no further hearings and will sunset after the Christmas holidays. The compressed timeline makes it difficult to get the former president's full side of his story should he decide to testify.

Trump’s response:

“Why didn’t the Unselect Committee ask me to testify months ago? Why did they wait until the very end, the final moments of their last meeting?,” he asked. “Because the Committee is a total “BUST” that has only served to further divide our Country which, by the way, is doing very badly - A laughing stock all over the World?”

📌After stating there was no need to investigate House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's role because she wasn't involved in Capitol security and their end goal was to find the truth no matter where it led and After Pelosi has denied any involvement in security…. the committee showed compelling video of Pelosi commanding the security apparatus of the U.S. Capitol complex as it was under siege by rioters, directing resources, calling the Pentagon and soliciting police from neighboring Virginia. The footage clearly contradicts Pelosi's earlier claim that she has nothing to do with Capitol security.

And… Politifact, the fact-checking website, concluded that Pelosi does in fact have some shared responsibility for security with the Senate majority leader, because they each supervise their respective sergeant-at-arms.

Alex Halderman, Professor of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Michigan, claims to have identified a critical privacy flaw in the election infrastructure sold by Dominion Voting Systems in the United States.

This privacy flaw could allow members of the public to identify other peoples ballots and how they voted. While this flaw is not able to actually change the way a person votes, privacy is a key part of our election integrity process. People vote under the assumption that others can’t publicly access and view who they voted for.

The states potentially affected by the flaw in the Dominion Voting Systems (DVS) ImageCast Precinct (ICP) and ImageCast Evolution (ICE) ballot scanners are: California, Alaska, Minnesota, Arizona, New Mexico, Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Virginia, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, Iowa, Vermont, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania, as well as the territory of Puerto Rico.
