Donald Trump broke his silence regarding the Steve Bannon contempt case by posting that like many others, Bannon is fighting for his country. Former President Trump also included statements made by attorney Gregg Jarrett which argues that Bannon has a case for his contempt conviction to be quashed.

"If a defendant believes his response to the subpoena is lawful, then he cannot be convicted," Jarrett wrote.

Bannon is out on bail pending the appeal of his conviction.
