🚨Trump Organization found guilty in tax fraud case

The Trump Organization was found guilty Tuesday of criminal tax fraud — and now former President Donald Trump’s real-estate company could land a $1.6 million fine.

The Trump Org was convicted on all 15 counts it faced — including tax fraud, falsifying business records, conspiracy and related crimes — following two days of deliberations in Manhattan Supreme Court.

Prosecutors alleged during the four-week trial that for 15 years the Trump Org helped top execs skirt income taxes on cushy, off-the-books benefits including rent, private school tuition and luxury cars.

House January 6 committee has decided to make criminal referrals, chairman says

The House select committee investigating J-6 has decided to make criminal referrals to the DOJ. Rep. Bernie Thompson (D) Mississippi said the committee has not narrowed down the universe of individuals who may be referred.

When the panel makes referrals, Thompson said it will be a separate document from the panel’s final report that will be sent to DOJ.

A ‘source’ told CNN the criminal referrals the J-6 committee will ultimately be making “will be focused on the main organizers and leaders of the attacks.”

A subcommittee of members was tasked with providing options to the full committee about how to present evidence of possible obstruction, possible perjury and possible witness tampering as well as potential criminal referrals to the DOJ. Subcommittee members, all lawyers,are:

🚩Adam Schiff(D)
🚩Zoe Lofgren(D)
🚩Liz Cheney (R)

Members on the panel have been in wide agreement that former President Donald Trump and some of his closest allies have committed a crime when he pushed a conspiracy to prevent the peaceful transfer of power, as they’ve laid out in their hearings.

BUT

They have been split over what to do about it, including whether to make a criminal referral of Trump to the Justice Department. In the past, this question has led to a vigorous and sometimes contentious debate among committee members.

American Girl accused of teaching children how to change genders with puberty blockers

The iconic American Girl doll brand is under fire after publishing a book, "Smart Girl's Guide: Body Image," that instructs children on how to obtain puberty blockers to change their gender without parental knowledge.

The book, marketed to children ages 10 and up, states, "If you haven't gone through puberty yet, the doctor might offer medicine to delay your body's changes, giving you more time to think about your gender identity.

The book also instructs children: "If you don’t have an adult you trust, there are organizations across the country that can help you. Turn to the resources on page 95 for more information."

On the American Girl website, the book received overall negative reviews.

On Wednesday, political consultant and Trump ally Roger Stone announced that his personal Twitter account had been reinstated.

Stone had been suspended from the platform under the previous regime after criticizing CNN anchor Don Lemon, calling him "dumber than dog sh*t," among other names. Twitter said that his account had violated policies on abusive behavior.

TikTok hit by US lawsuits over child safety, security fears

A pair of lawsuits was brought against TikTok from the US state of Indiana. TikTok is accused it of making false claims about the Chinese-owned app's safety for children.

This comes as problems are mounting for TikTok in the U.S. because if multiple accusations that the extremely popular app is a national security threat and a conduit for spying by China.

In a statement, AG Todd Rokita said: “The TikTok app is a malicious and menacing threat unleashed on unsuspecting Indiana consumers by a Chinese company that knows full well the harms it inflicts on users.”

The lawsuit said TikTok algorithms served up "abundant content depicting alcohol, tobacco, and drugs; sexual content, nudity, and suggestive themes" to users as young as 13.

The state also sued TikTok for allegedly deceiving customers into believing that "reams of highly sensitive data and personal information" were protected from the Chinese government.
