After Bankman-Fried suggested she might be to blame for a missing $8 billion in customer money, Ellison could be signaling she’s willing to flip on her old boyfriend with the hiring of the law firm Wilmer Hale.

Top white-collar attorneys point out that Wilmer Hale is among the most politically connected white-collar law firms in the country. It has a reputation for cutting deals with the Manhattan US Attorney’s office, itself the country’s premier prosecutor of business-related crimes.

Massive fire breaks out at NYPD impound, evidence warehouse in Brooklyn

There were 15 NYPD employees on the property at the time the fire broke out, but they all escaped.

Officials with the FDNY said at least 8 people were injured, but they were all believed to be minor injuries. That included 3 firefighters, 3 with EMS and 2 civilians.

NYPD officials said cold-case evidence stored at the warehouse goes back years but the magnitude of what was destroyed is not yet known.

The building is one of five warehouses where the NYPD stores vehicles that are confiscated. They also use the warehouse to store evidence that is too large to fit in normal storage areas.

Biden Administration Approves Health Insurance for Illegal Immigrants in Washington State

The Biden admin. approved a waiver that will allow Washington state to offer health insurance to illegal immigrants.

The “State Innovation Waiver” was submitted by the state in the spring and approved by HHS on Dec. 9 under section 1332 of the Affordable Care Act (ACA).

The waiver will be effective from January 2024 through to December 2028, subject to the state accepting specific terms and conditions, and will allow roughly 105,000 uninsured illegal immigrants in the state to shop for insurance.

Hacker Claims Breach of FBI's Critical-Infrastructure Portal

A hacker who reportedly posed as the CEO of a financial institution claims to have obtained access to the more than 80,000-member database of InfraGard, an FBI-run outreach program that shares sensitive information on national security and cybersecurity threats with public officials and private sector actors who run U.S. critical infrastructure.

The hacker posted samples they said were from the database to an online forum popular with cybercriminals last weekend and said they were asking $50,000 for the entire database
