The Australian government will be funding a national campaign disguised as a "FREE HEART DISEASE DNA SCREENING" that will collect the DNA Data from Australian citizens

The nationally collaborative project will link researchers and clinicians around the country to screen at least 10,000 people between 18 and 40

Dr McRae said testing was crucial even in people who had no family history of disease due to the possibility of random mutation in genes.

"A genetic mutation can occur, so anybody standing here could have a mutation they don't know about," McRae said

"If there's an ability to detect it, the sooner the better"

He said if the program was successful it will be considered for an Australia-wide rollout similar to the National Bowel Cancer Screening Program

"If it provides useful information it ought to flow right across the nation"

Thousands of German stores on brink of closure – Spiegel

Over 15,000 German stores are facing bankruptcy due to soaring energy costs, Der Spiegel reported on Friday, citing the German Retail Association (HDE).

According to the report, the HDE wrote a letter to Vice-Chancellor and Economy Minister Robert Habeck in which it warned that the “exploding energy costs” are making it impossible for increasing numbers of retailers to make ends meet.

The group called the situation “existentially threatening” and said that around 16,000 businesses may go bankrupt this year, while the “negative trend” is likely to continue through 2023.
