Yes I have lived in Memphis although I am originally from the Orlando Florida area.

My husband was promoted and we had to move up here to the Memphis area 27 years ago. It's always been a rough town.

The parks used to be beautiful. They used to be safe. But it was a very big liberal stronghold and still is. Gang activity has quickly blossomed in Shelby County where Memphis is located.

We purchased a house in an adjacent suburb outside of the big city. Our oldest child our daughter while attending High School in her senior year had to take a required class for Ebonics literally to learn how to speak Ebonics.

One morning, just before the kids got up to get ready for school, I go to put the dogs out and I am greeted by no less than 50 Sheriff deputies and SWAT snipers literally in my backyard descending on the house behind us at the crack ass if dawn. In fact, my neighbor who was a lieutenant on the Memphis police department, literally met me on my porch and told me to go back inside move to the front of the house and lay on the floor with the family. The neighbor was wanted for murder for hire.
