Over the last few decades Israel has intentionally targeted the American pharmaceutical industry. Israeli companies that never existed before have exploded into pharmaceutical giants seemingly overnight.
Why Pharma? Because it is the one thing most people can't live without. Total dependency.
Instead of oil, the next war we fight in the Middle East may very well be to protect the strategic supply chain to the very life giving medications our nation invented.
