More than North Korea and Iran, Russia now tops the list of countries hit by the most sanctions globally, according to the tracking database Castellum.
Almost 3,000 new penalties were imposed against Moscow after its recognition of the Donbass Republics - with the most coming from Switzerland.
Here's the top five countries rounded up:
Russia - 5,500
Iran - 3,600
Syria - 2,600
North Korea - 2,100
Venezuela - 700
