Here's a pie chart I made on the causes of death (in USA), starting at human conception. This took some calculation work to do, because folks do not keep the data all in one place, for whatever reason. About 7 out of 10 human deaths occur due to the BIG FOUR causes of death, if rates of death remain stable for the USA at mid-2010s levels (calculations adjusted for generation size). Close to 1/3 of deaths occur prior to birth.
DEATHS PER 1485 PREGNANCIES (per 1000 BIRTHS):
BIG FOUR CAUSES OF DEATH:
Heart Disease -- 302
Miscarriage -- 297 (rough estimate: miscarriage is in top 3)
Cancer -- 295
Abortion -- 188
OTHER CAUSES OF DEATH
Road Incidents -- 76
Lower Respiratory Disease -- 74
Alzheimers -- 56
Stroke -- 49
Diabetes -- 38
Drug Overdose -- 28
Kidney Disease -- 27
Pneumonia and Influenza -- 25
Suicide --18
Homicide and Terrorism -- 10
Stupidity and Really Rare Diseases -- 2
