They are unable to tell you however what the climate ought to be in Africa because they never had any quality data on what the climate was like in that part of the world in the first place.

I just remembered: We actually have a bunch more Classical Greek samples from a recent study on a Greek colony in Sicily, dated 409 BC and 480 BC, eleven in total.

They were most closely related to ancient Mycenaean Greeks (and genetically similar populations from the Balkans and Italy) and modern Greeks and Italians.

Again, small sample size, but this more or less confirms that Classical Greeks were definitely not Middle Eastern.
