The definition of mass shooting is 4 or more people killed at one time.
However this does not exclude shootings of 4+ in self defense. White people are most likely to carry for their and their family's safety. Therefore numbers of "mass shootings by white people" are inflated by white people shooting 4 or more assailants in self defense.
