Choose your GENDER on passports - US State Dept.

US citizens will be able to choose the gender they want displayed on the passport, without any forms of certifying medical documentation - but it will take some time.

“The process of adding a gender marker for non-binary, intersex, and gender non-conforming persons to these documents is complex and will take time for extensive updates to our information technology (IT) systems,” the advisory states.

President Biden had promised the passport gender options in his campaign last year, but some GOP officials have accusing his admin of "jumping on the culture war train."

Previously, if other IDs failed to match your stated passport gender... then evidence of the change was required; what else might not require proof?

❗️Pope Francis has AGREED to meet with the Indigenous survivors of the residential schools - amid calls for the Catholic Church to APOLOGIZE over its role in the deaths and abuse of thousands of Indigenous children.

At least 150,000 Native children are believed to have been forcibly removed from their families to attend the state-funded schools in an effort to forcibly assimilate them - they operated from the 19th century into the 1990s.

Around three-quarters of the 130 residential schools were run by Roman Catholic congregations.

Over the last few weeks the unmarked graves were discovered at the sites of three of such schools - with the remains of over 1000 people, most of them children.
