American Airlines and Spirit Airlines leave thousands STRANDED, cancel HUNDREDS of flights.
American Airlines canceled 288 flights on Tuesday and Spirit Airlines 347 as air travel ramps back up again across the US - over 4k total of flights cancelled or delayed since Sunday!
Airlines are struggling to keep up with demand as they experience smaller staff numbers and inclement weather situations as well as gas shortages at a number of airports across the country.
Delays and staffing issues has caused some on Capitol Hill to question where the $54 billion in taxpayer money given to keep airline employees on the payroll during the pandemic went, with Chair of the Senate Commerce Committee Senator Maria Cantwell pondering how the worker shortages occurred after airlines received emergency funding.
