Google co-founder granted New Zealand residency, raises eyebrows.

Billionaire Larry Page has gained NZ residency officials confirmed, stoking debate whether extremely wealthy individuals can simply by access to the South Pacific nation.

Immigration NZ says Page first applied for residency in November 2020 under a special visa open to people willing to invest 10 million NZ dollars ($7 million USD).
It’s unclear exactly why, Page needs NZ residency.

Opposition lawmakers have questioned how Page, who is the world’s sixth-wealthiest person in the world, was able to be approved for residency at a time when many skilled workers or separated family members were being turned away due to covid-19.
