Historically, salt has been used to preserve and cleanse. Overtime, "science" brought us preservatives and chemicals that tend to "preserve" and as a result, salt is used less and less for this purpose. In addition, many don't know this, but salt has been watered down and poisoned.

Yes, your average table salt contains ingredients today that are actually toxic to YOU. Do you have Morton's sea salt in your house? Go look at the Ingredients. Surely you'll just find "sea salt" right?

WRONG. You'll also find "Yellow Prussiate of Soda" or a variety of other additives. At the bottom of this post, I'll share a link to something I shared back in June on how I made this lovely little discovery. As a society, we've progressively moved away from something God gifted us as natural way to cleanse and preserve, and moved towards these man-made ingredients and chemicals which are increasingly being exposed as being very damaging to our health. There are pure salts out there, and they really aren't hard to find, you just have to know to actually look at the ingredient label.

The book of Judges talks about how salt was used to purify cities.
The book of Ezekiel talks about how salt was used to cleanse babies.
The book of Kings talks about how salt was used to purify water.

Just as darkness is the absence of information, lightness IS information. Light = TRUTH. Salt = CLEANSING.

Do you see what I'm saying?

We often talk about how we are the Light (Matthew 5:14), but we don't often talk about how we are also the salt. We are the children of God. We are the salt that God uses to purify this earth from the decay we see all around us and we do this with TRUTH.

We are the light AND the salt of the world and we are here to spread truth and purify this earth for God's glory, until we meet with Him again!

Everything we do, every calling we get from the Almighty, starts within each of us. How much more powerful can we become at being the salt we are called to be, if we do the work to cleanse ourselves inside too? Just some food for thought ;)
